Grade 4/5 Workshops

Grade 6-9 Workshops

This exciting, full day event attracted 560 students in grades 4 to 9 from within Foothills School Division (all FSD schools serving students in grades 4-9), Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools (High River, Okotoks & Strathmore) and École Beausoleil (Okotoks) — out largest conference yet!

Students had the opportunity to attend three workshops, choosing from among 25 writers, illustrators, cartoonists, music writers and other presenters.  The day kicked off with an inspiring and informative keynote presentation by novelist Jacqueline Guest and concluded with the opportunity for students to shop in the Conference Book Store and get autographs from their favourite presenters.

The event was founded by Foothills School Division 27 years ago and received charitable society status in 2007. The Young Author’s’ Conference Society is fortunate to receive support from many generous community organizations and businesses, making it possible for us to offer this opportunity to youth in our schools  at a modest cost.
