Denise Rose Superintendent of Schools
The Superintendent of Schools is the Chief Executive Officer of Foothills School Division. As CEO, Denise Rose is responsible to the Board of Trustees for achievement of its Mission. In addition to educational and organizational leadership, internal and external communications, school and system planning and evaluation and reporting, Denise acts as liaison with the Board of Trustees, Division Staff, School Councils, system-level partners and relevant government departments.
Denise Rose began her career in Education as a teacher with Rockyview School Division in 1978, moving into her first Administrative position as a Vice Principal with that board in 1984. Following a successful Principalship there, Denise moved to Cranbrook, British Columbia, to join the Southeast Kootenay School Division, in roles of both Vice Principal and Principal over the next nine years. In 1999, Denise returned to Albertaand joined Foothills School Division, later accepting an appointment to the role of Assistant Superintendent in 2003 and continuing in that capacity until 2009 and her appointment to Deputy Superintendent.
Denise is a strong advocate for the personal growth and development of every individual, whether they be student or staff with Foothills School Division. In collaboaration with her leadership team, she is committed to the promise of Foothills School Division's Mission Statement:
