The Foothills Young Author's Conference is an exciting, full day event held every year on the first Saturday in May and welcoming close to 400 students in grades four through eight within both the Foothills School Division and Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools in the M.D. of Foothills. 

The 2010 event took place at Highwood High School on Saturday May 1st featuring a keynote address from Kenneth Oppel, author of the amazing Silverwing series!  Visit Ken's website at http://www.kennethoppel.ca/home.htm.

Children's authors and illustrators across Alberta and British Columbia spend a day offering workshops and real-life experience to students with a love of Language Arts.  Founded by the Foothills School Division 21 years ago, and registered as a separate charitable organization in 2007, the Young Author's Conference Society relies on the generosity of community benefactors, school councils, school families and both School Divisions to support this exhilarating day for youth.
