Distributed Learning

Distributed Learning is any form of learning where students and teachers are not required to be in the same space at the same time. This can include any combination of on-line, face to face, and alternative programming. Through distributed technologies, students have the flexibility to access teachers, learning objects, experts, peers, and other resources whenever and wherever it is most beneficial.DL_Pic

Distributed Learning is a model by which learning and teaching is distributed across a variety of delivery formats and mediums - print, digital (online) and traditional delivery methods - allowing students and their teachers to be separated by time and/or location.

Distributed Learning connects students and teachers across the province, providing choice, flexibility and authentic learning experiences. It offers the potential of exploring different relationships and building highly personalized and individualized learning opportunities for student success.

Foothills School Division's Distributed Learning Strategy, directed by Alberta Education, highlights a collaborative effort throughout the education sector to create a beneficial environment where school authorities work together for the benefit of Foothills' and other Alberta students.
