Worldwide, billions of people use digital technologies to gain education, communicate and interact with others and provide themselves with multiple forms of entertainment. As we support students during their preparation for the future, the roles and responsibilities tied to appropriate technology use is embedded in our work.  

At Foothills School Division, our goal is to provide students with a clear understanding of what it means to be a Digital Citizen.

Information regarding Digital Citizenship can be found at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) website. ISTE outlines the nine elements of digital citizenry as:

• Digital Health and Wellness
• Digital Security

The curriculum used to guide instructional practice in Foothills' Schools embeds these elements as a part of its subject matter. We continue to work to educate students and staff and bring Digital Citizenship to the forefront of our practice.
