Our Transportation Services team is dedicated to providing safe and efficient service to all students entrusted to their care.
Foothills School Division’s Transportation department operates almost 70 bus routes serving the Towns of Okotoks and High River as well as smaller communities and rural areas.
More than half of our student population is transported daily with our bus fleet clocking an average of 11,500 kilometres each day.
Wait List Update – High River & Okotoks In-Town Routes:
We have completed a review of spaces available on these routes after accommodating all eligible students who require busing. Transportation Services has now contacted the families of waitlisted students that we are able to accommodate. As a result, all of our buses serving the Towns of Okotoks and High River are now full to capacity.
Thank you for your patience while we completed our assessment.
Route Delay & Cancellation Updates:
For real time updates on route delays and cancellations, please check the “Quick Links” section on the homepage of the FSD website, then click on the Bus Delays & Cancellations link. We will also highlight urgent information, including school closures, on a scrolling banner above the Quick Links, Latest News and Events sections on the homepage.
You may also wish to follow FSD on Twitter: @fsd38. We tweet information regarding bus cancellations and route delays the moment we receive it from Transportation Services.
In a school division as large as FSD, weather conditions and other factors can vary significantly from one community to another, particularly in rural areas. During times of severe weather, members of our Transportation Services department are out surveying the roads as early as 4:30 a.m. to assess conditions and make the best decisions possible to safeguard our students and drivers.
