Mental Health Week
Mental Health Week provides an opportunity for us to think about our own mental health and what we can do, as individuals and in our communities.
It is a week to send the message loud and clear. Achievement and success are important, but every student has their own particular definition of it. Strengthening traits like resilience and compassion are as important to development as getting good grades.
On May 2, 2018, I am inviting students and staff to wear a hat and help raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health.
I encourage you to participate and help remove the stigma that leaves so many young people suffering in silence. When your hat turns heads, it’s another chance to start new conversations about mental health.
There is no health without mental health.
