Learning Services - Director of Student Learning (7-12)
Doug Stevens (BSc Physics, BEd Secondary Science, MEd Educational Technology) is the Director of Distributed Learning for Foothills School Division. Doug has worked with Foothills in a variety of capacities including teaching grades 9-12 Mathematics, Science and Career and Technology Studies. The roles of the Director of Distributed Learning include:
- Directing and supporting work in the areas on Online and Distributed Learning
- Directing the work of Foothills School Division around Online Safety and Digital Citizenship
- Leading staff development in the areas of: Online and Distributed Learning; transformative infusion of technology in the classroom; Digital Citizenship and Online Safety; using student performance and survey data to assist the division in making the best decisions for students; and grading and reporting software
- Providing and supporting safe digital networking technologies for staff and students.
In addition to these areas, the Director of Distributed Learning also provides implementation support, staff development and parent support around the Alberta Education Mathematics Program of Studies.
